He was born May 14, 1913 in Fairfax, Missouri to Fern and Otis. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Army from 1942 - 1945. Ott worked for the Oakland Naval Supply Center as a crane operator from 1945 - 1977. He was the loving husband to Virginia Van Gundy for 53 years who preceded him in death in 1993. Father of Richard Rhoades of Tracy, CA and Vickye Grimes of Fayetteville, AK., five grandchildren, Brian Rhoades, deceased, Merenda Sturgeon, CA, Janine McGuinness, CA, Teresa Turner, AK, Brenda Roberts, AK and one foster grandchild, Jennifer Carter, OR. Eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Turner, Alex Turner, Destiny Collins, Timothy Sturgeon, Dylan Sturgeon, Connor McGuinness, Ciera McGuinness, Cameron McGuinness and foster great grandchild, Evan Carter. Siblings, Marguerite, deceased, Richard, deceased, Marvin, deceased, and Robert of Lockford, CA. Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544, on Monday, August 2, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Family prefers donations to be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 2609 E.
