Mavis Helgeland Rumph, born September 4, 1926, on her grandparent's farm near 
Kloten, ND, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2004, at her home in Brea, CA. 
She is survived by her loving family: husband of 55 years, Claude; daughter, 
Charlotte Heideman (Doug); son, Craig Rumph (Kathy); daughter, Colleen Vallely 
(Keith); grandchildren, Sarah and Kimberly Heideman, Kate and Molly Mavis 
Rumph, Merle Jack Leslie IV, Zachary and Kyle Vallely; brother, Irving 
Helgeland (Joyce) and sister, Lois Helgeland Sbragia; brother-in-law, Bob 
Lancaster; cousins, Donald and Richard Freed, Jerry Freed Scriven and many 
adored nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Irwin and 
Lillian Helgeland and sister Jackie Helgeland Lancaster. Mavis's greatest love 
was her God, husband and family. She was the epitome of a loving wife and 
mother. Her next greatest love was traveling the world with Claude, family and 
friends. 
Services were held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hacienda Heights, CA. on 
June 24, 2004. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Memorial Foundation-Crosson 
Cancer Center, P.O. Box, 44138, Fullerton, CA. 92834.
