Devincenzi April 29, 1927 - August 5, 2004 After a courageous struggle with cancer, Vernon J. Devincenzi, 77, passed away at his home on August 5, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 29, 1927, he attended schools in Linden, CA. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII and returned to Stockton, where he married Geraldine Gardner, his devoted wife of 54 years. Together, they made a home in Stockton, where he remained for his entire life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Julia Devincenzi; his brother, Donald; and his sister, Mae. He was blessed with a loving family, which included a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bruce Prosje, of North Dakota; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Julie Devincenzi, of Stockton; 4 grandsons, Peter and Phillip Devincenzi, and Troy and Blake Salisbury and 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Koral Salisbury. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and John. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, August 10, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of the Annunciation, Rose St. at Van Buren St., Stockton. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, 12:00-5:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00-7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St.., Stockton. Committal at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
