Stamps June 30, 1913 - August 4, 2004 Raymond E. Stamps, 91, of Stockton, CA passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2004. He was born to John and Viola Stamps of Pryor, Oklahoma on June 30, 1913. He was the youngest of four children. Brothers Edgar and Murlin and sister Myrtle. They were orphaned when he was nine years old and later adopted into the Sand Springs Children's Home in Sand Springs , Oklahoma. There he met and fell in love with Mary Ellen Reaves who became his wife and best friend for the next 65 years. They were married on November 30, 1936 in Corvallis, Oregon. Together with their two children Raymond Jr. and Carole Louise in 1946 they moved to Stockton to be near their childhood friend Paul Morton where together they could pursue their life long hobbies of hunting and fishing. Raymond was a tool and die maker for International Harvester Co. until his retirement. He was active in the Stockton Rod and Gun Club, UAW Union and later in the Oak Park Senior Citizen Center. He has lived in assisted living for the past three years where he has been lovingly cared for by the staff of Rio Las Palmas. Raymond is survived by his daughter, Carole Turner; grandchildren, Nancy, Darryl and Michael Turner; great grandchildren, Briaunna, Kristopher and David Turner. Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service on August 10, 2004, at 3:30 p.m., at the Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, at Hwy 99, Manteca, CA.
