Cordie Lorraine Pearson Sims Easter 
January 15, 1932 - August 5, 2004



Cordie Lorraine Pearson Sims Easter, 72, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2004, 
in Stockton, CA. She was born January 15, 1932 in Tulare, CA. Cordie became an 
Elementary School Teacher after working for the Federal Civil Service for six 
years. She taught for several years and moved up to Vice Principal where she 
served in that position for three years. She retired from the Stockton Unified 
School District in June 1991 after serving as an Elementary Principal for 
fourteen years. She remained an advocate for all children and maintained a 
commitment to the betterment of children. Aside from her family and profession, 
she was involved in her children's and grandchildren's PTAs; Delta Sigma Theta 
Sorority, Inc., and other community organizations. She was preceded in death by 
her son, Elder Rodney E. Sims. 
Survivors include her beloved husband Elder O'Dell Easter, Sr.; children, 
William Sims and Karen Sims-Ontiveros of Stockton, CA; Carol Massoud of Canoga 
Park., CA, Claudia James of Phoenix, AZ and Larry Sims of Oakland, CA; 
grandchildren, Brooke Sims, Laren Gomez, Felicia Gomez, Kristina Sims, Willem 
Sims, Jesse Gomez, and Jose Ontivareos, Jaylin McCuff and Angel Carter; great-
grandsons, Evan Smith Gomez, Johnathon Powell; one daughter-in-law, Denise 
Sims; brother, Cecil Pearson; one nephew, Craig Pearson; one niece, Deborah 
Burisse, all of Stockton and one aunt, Mrs. Willie Mae Graven of Los Angeles 
and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. 
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
on Monday, August 9, 2004 at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home, 520 N. Sutter Street. 
Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., August 10, 2004 at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith 
Church, 1616 E. Main Street, Stockton. Committal:  Cherokee Memorial Park, 
Lodi, CA. Wallace-Martin Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
