Mr. Ohm was born July 12, 1909 in Stockton, CA. He was the son of Jurgen Ohm and Dora Ohm, who immigrated from Germany. Mr. Ohm attended Garden Grammar School for eight years. At sixteen, he went to work for $1.00 a day and room and board for Konan Bros., then for Herman and Albert Muller and finally for Newt Robinson. He began his own farming operation on Roberts Island, expanding into the Jackson Valley area near Ione, until he retired at the age of 75. He was an active member of the Roberts Union Farm Center, a 4-H Leader, the Stockton Horse and Trailer Club and the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Posse, under Carlos Sousa. He was also a member of Grandfathers of America and the Stockton Elks #218. In addition to his wife, Dawnna and brother, George Ohm, he is survived by his son, Ronald Ohm and wife Dolores; his daughter, Beverly Gomes; stepson Jim Emerson and his wife Rachel. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irma Holsworth and stepdaughter Yvonne Hagene. In addition, he leaves 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew. Friends are invited for a visitation on Friday, July 2, 2004 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, CA.
