He was born May 24, 1934, in Wewoka, OK. He was married to Fredrica Washington Cooper for 42 years. Jim moved to California with his family at the age of 2. He served his country in Korea, N.C., NV, IN, and after 5 years he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a U.S. Postal Carrier for over 35 years, serving many homes and businesses in the San Jose and Stockton areas. For years he served as an officer of Branch 213 National Association of Letter Carriers. Jim was a member of The Keystone Lodge #14, Prince Hall Affiliate, Stockton, and most recently served as it's treasurer. He also served as a member of the San Joaquin County Auxiliary for a number of years. He was a faithful member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend. Services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2004, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 306 E. Clay St. at 11:00 a.m. Committal at Cherokee Memorial Park. Floral contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
