Wong July 19, 1923 - August 12, 2004 Allan J. Wong, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Hsu Wong in 1992. He was born July 19, 1923 in Stockton. He graduated from Tracy Union High School in 1941, and worked in Hawaii as a welder at a Naval Base in Oahu. He was a decorated World War II veteran and when he returned, he graduated from College of Pacific in 1956. He attended St. Mark's Methodist Church where he met and married Nina Hsu in 1956. He then started teaching for the Stockton Unified School District in the Business Education Department and was one of the first teachers for Amos Alonzo Stagg High School at its current location. He received his Masters Degree in Economics at University of Pacific in 1965. He retired from Stagg High School in 1989 along with his bright yellow station wagon that he was known for. He was involved with Junior Achievement programs and the Sales Club at Stagg High. He also belonged to the Wong Family Association and was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts for Troop 160. He enjoyed fishing but most of all, he loved his vegetable garden. Allan is survived by his children, Gary Wong and his wife Susanne of Lodi, and Lisa Wong Thompson and her husband John of Corte Madera. Loving grandfather to Benjamin Wong, Mary Wong, Sarah Thompson and Jennifer Thompson. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters John G. Wong and Keith K. Wong of Stockton, Peggy Quon of Los Angeles, David Wong of Sacramento and Joycelyn Yee of Richmond. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street, Stockton, CA at 11:00 a.m. Visitation: Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Committal: Park View Cemetery.
