Gladys Naomi Berglund 
October 2, 1908 - August 13, 2004



Gladys Naomi Berglund, 95, passed away quietly on Friday, August 13, 2004 in 
Stockton, California, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1908 
in Stockton, California the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Mary Barr. 
She had two brothers Percy and Oni. 
In 1924 she married her beloved husband of 80 years, Edward Berglund. She had 
two loving and devoted daughters Wanda Bertolini of Stockton and the late Mona 
Powers. She had seven grandchildren, Craig Powers of Sacramento, Berdette 
Felipe of Phoenix, Candy Perez of Riverside, Toni Castleman of Colfax, Rick 
Powers of Danville, and Cammie Powers of Rocklin. She is also survived by 11 
great-grand children and 17 great great grandchildren. She was the former 
President of the Stockton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Club. She and her 
husband owned and operated The Peach Tree Fountain on Pacific Ave. in the 
1950's. One of her greatest joys was cooking for her family. Her love of her 
husband of 80 years was unparrell. Their marriage was like a Fairy Tale come 
true. Their love and devotion to each other was shown in every aspect of their 
lives and their family. She will be greatly missed by her whole family. One of 
her family's most prized possession is the daily diary she kept over the last 
forty years.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll 
Mortuary on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on 
Tuesday, August 17, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Mortuary. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 
N. California Street, Stockton, CA 95202 (209)464-4711.
