'Bud' Marsh June 14, 1918 - August 15, 2004 Raymond R. 'Bud' Marsh died on Sunday, August 15, 2004. He was 86. Bud Marsh was a long-time resident of Stockton, coming from Arkansas in the late twenties with his family. His parents, Sam and Addie Marsh established a home in Stockton where family members still reside. Bud graduated from Stockton schools. Active in baseball and basketball, he was a member of the 1937 All Star Team. During his high school years he worked at Webb's Bakery where he met the daughter of the owner, Mary E. "Betty" Webb. They were to become sweethearts and married in 1941. In 1941, Bud joined the Army Air Corps (now Air Force) and served in the European theatre as a gunnery sargeant. Bud flew missions from France and England over Germany in WWII. After the war, he was to establish himself in the growing Stockton business community. He worked at Bank of America and then became an independent insurance agent. During his early years, he was a member of the Exchange Club, a Stockton business group. He ended his business career, age 85, still a member of Davis and Associates, a Stockton insurance group. Raymond R. 'Bud' Marsh and his wife of fifty years, 'Betty', established a home in North Stockton and enjoyed long years in their home with a wonderful garden, pets, family and daughters. Betty died in 1993. Bud continued to work, but as his health declined, he moved to Camlu Retirement Center. Raymond R. 'Bud' Marsh is survived by his brother, Wilson Marsh; sister, Mary Marsh Cox; God daughters, Marcia Anderson-Wilber and Kate Feldmann Delos; nephew, Tim Cox and nieces, Judy Cox Green, Jill Marsh and Cindy Marsh Taylor. Memorial Services: Friday, 11:00 a.m., August 27, 2004 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1625 N. Lincoln St. (Off Harding Way). Ashes to be scattered in Pacific Ocean off Golden Gate. Memorial donations in the name of Raymond R. 'Bud' Marsh may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
