A native Stocktonian, he was born February 5, 1928. John attended and graduated from Stockton High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of the Karl Ross American Legion Post #16, John proudly represented his country. He returned to Stockton and worked 31 years for PG&E as a Gas Crew Foreman. John loved boating on the San Joaquin Delta and fishing. He was a member of the Stockton Rod and Gun Club and the Port Stockton Boaters, where he was bestowed with a life membership. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mattie Mandich of Stockton; his three children, Dan Mandich and his wife, Dee, both of KS, Jo Kort and her husband, Bart, both of Sonoma and Tom Mandich and his wife, Jackie; brother, James "Bud" Mandich and sister-in-law, Charlene. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine St., Lodi, CA. Visitation hours will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S. School St., Lodi, CA.
