She was born in Iowa on February 12, 1921 and has lived in Stockton for 64 years. She was a homemaker for 63 years as well as a nurse in the Navy. Mrs. Vomocil was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for 25 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America, was a foster mother to several children and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 57 years. She is survived by her husband of 63 years John Vomocil of Stockton; children Leslie Vomocil of Pioneer, CA, Boyd Vomocil of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Terry Vomocil of Maryland; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7030 N. El Dorado St. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12-5 pm at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St., Stockton. (209)464-4711. Committal, Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi.
