Holley Lynip Buckius 
July 31, 1910 - August 12, 2004


Born in Alturas, California and raised in Berkeley, California. Attended one 
year at UC Berkeley before entering Mason Junior College in upper New York 
where she graduated in 1931. She earned a degree in history in 1933 from 
Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Married for over 50 years to the late 
Orland E. Buckius Sr. Preceded in death by her grandson, Galen G. Martinez, son-
in-law, Ernie Martinez, brother, Franklin Van Lynip, sisters, Mary L. Needham 
and Anna Lynip.
Survived by daughter, Barbara Martinez of Stockton; sons, Orland E. Buckius Jr. 
of Santa Cruz and Richard O. Buckius of Champaign, Illinois; sister, Helen Van 
Etten of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandson, Richard B. Buckius of Burlingame; 
granddaughters, Galene G. Martinez of Chatsworth, Sarah J. Buckius of Ann 
Arbor, Michigan and Emily A. Buckius of Champaign, Illinois; daughters-in-law, 
Kathy Buckius of Champaign, Illinois, and Rozanne Buckius of Santa Cruz; 
nephews, William L. Needham, Carl, Peter and Alan Van Etten; nieces, Meredith 
Laubin, Jean Speidel and Libby Tanzer.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Morada home in celebration of 
Holley's life at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2004. Burial to be held at the 
Sacramento city cemetery on Sunday., August 29, 2004.
