M. LaVerne Travis 
February 13, 1916 - August 24, 2004



M. LaVerne Travis, 88, of Stockton, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 
her home. Born February 13, 1916 in Ft. Worth, Texas, she was a homemaker 
living in the Stockton area for 67 years. She was a charter member of Calvary 
Baptist Church, an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing for family and the church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel L. Travis.
LaVerne is survived by her children, Kaye Stewart of ID, Sandra Johnson, Rhonda 
Johnson both of Stockton, Rita Tinkler of Santa Rosa and Beth Bashaw of 
Escalon. Grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 9. Sister of Jerry Rimmer of 
Sacramento. 
Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services Friday, August 27, 2004 at 10:00 
a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation at service 
time only. 
Memorial contributions to either the First Baptist Christian School Scholarship 
Fund, 3535 N. El Dorado St., Stockton 95204 or the Gospel Rescue Mission, 445 
S. San Joaquin St., Stockton 95203 are preferred. Cherokee Memorial Funeral 
Home in charge of arrangements.
