Michael O'Bird 
Michael O'Bird, 47, of Lockeford, died March 18 in Lodi. He was born Dec. 1, 
1957, in Ceres, where he was raised.

Mr. O'Bird lived in Woodbridge, Lodi and then Lockeford. He served in the U.S. 
Marines from 1975-78. 

He married Janie Jackson in 1976 in Charleston, N.C. He worked as a machinist 
for 32 years, and was most recently employed by Stockton TRI. He enjoyed 
NASCAR, dirt bikes, the ocean, traveling and spending time with his family.




Michael O'Bird 
He is survived by his wife, Janie O'Bird, of Lockeford; sons, James O'Bird, 
Nathan O'Bird, Jason O'Bird; step-son, James Gibbons; sisters, Judy Dawson, of 
Missouri, Jane Phelps, of Fremont, Joyce Poore, of Lower Lake; brother, John 
O'Bird, of Missouri; mother, Mattie Uptegrove, of Ceres; step-father, John 
Henry Uptegrove, of Ceres; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris O'Bird; and son, Michael John 
O'Bird.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
