Florence Desmond Owens

Florence Desmond Owens, a 46 year resedent of Lodi who lived the last five 
years in Walnut Creek, died after a brief illness in Alamo, California on 
August 20, 2005. 

Florence, the oldest of five children, was born in Genoa County, WI and spent 
her early years in Galena, IL. The Desmond Family moved to the San Joaquin 
Valley in the 1920's, and Florence married Jay owens in 1938. They lived in 
Newman, Manteca and settled in Lodi in 1954.

Florence is survived by her children, Sally Reimers and son-in-law, William of 
Danville and Dan Owens and daughteer-in -law, Ginny of Sacramento; sister, Jean 
(Sug) Lange of Manteca and sister-in-law, Lonore Jensen of Santa Maria. 

She has five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and 
nephews.  

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, jay in 1993; siblings, Margaret 
(Peggy) Wilbe, James Desmond and Mildred Naumann. 

A family service was held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Danville. 

Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Contra Costa.
