Patteson Sept. 5, 1919 — March 8, 2006 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday for longtime homemaker Frances P. Patteson who died Wednesday at New Hope Care Center. She was 86. Born in Boston, Mrs. Patteson lived in Mountain House for a year and previously lived in Tracy 64 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially in their after-school activities. She loved playing the piano and taking trips to the ocean. She also loved to travel by train. A highlight of her travels was her trip to the Holy Land. Mrs. Patteson is survived by her children, Patricia Sainsbury and James Patteson, both of Mountain House, and Walter Patteson II of Tracy; grandchildren, Walter Patteson III of Maryland, Richard Patteson of Hawaii, Kara Gutman of New York, Jennifer, Melissa, James and Walker Patteson, all of California, and Amanda Patteson of Wisconsin; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Bob” Patteson; siblings, John, Paul and Mary Gorman; and grandson, Nathan Sainsbury. Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. Patteson’s name may be sent to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy 95376.
