Ester Petschuch
Ester Petschuch, 82, of Lodi, died Oct. 14. She was born April 27, 1923, in 
Ratzersdorf, Czechoslovakia.

Mrs. Petschuch attended grammar school in Ratzersdorf and a home economics 
school in Unternalb, Austria. She married her childhood sweetheart, Paul 
Petschuch, who was from the same hometown, on Nov. 24, 1942. They lived in 
Heubach, Germany from 1948 to 1955, when they moved to Lodi with their two 
daughters. 

She was a sorter for Diamond Walnut in Stockton until 1971, when she became a 
homemaker.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi, Hermann Sons of Stockton, 
Fidelity Society, and the Heimat Choir. She and her husband traveled 
extensively, touring Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, Alaska and most of 
the United States.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Petschuch, of Lodi; daughters, Heidi 
Petschuch, of Modesto, and Helga Marshall, of Brentwood; sisters, Rosa 
Kompauer, of Lodi, and Adelheid Lietzke, of Germany; and one grandson.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Emanuel Lutheran Church with 
Pastor Bill Crabtree officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 
p.m. Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
