Purviance September 3, 1922 - March 29, 2005 Charles M. Purviance, 82 of Stockton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in a local hospital. Born on September 3, 1922 in Beatrice, NE, he was a cost accountant with Sharpe Army Depot for 15 years. An Army Veteran of World War II, he served with the 35th Infantry Division that landed at Omaha Beach. After the invasion, he went with Patton's 3rd Army division which went to France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and received 4 Battle Stars and returned home in 1945. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Purviance and step-daughter, Betty Hanson. He is survived his step-daughter, Yvonne Collins of Stockton; grandfather of 5 and great-grandfather of 7.
