September 22, 1952 - April 13, 2006

Philip Rivera "JR", age 53, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 
13, 2006 in Stockton after a short battle with cancer. Philip was born on 
September 22, 1952 in Stockton, the beloved son of Armida N. Rivera and the 
late Philip J. Rivera. He worked for many years as a courier in Sacramento. 
Philip also spent many years teaching the word of the Lord at Victory Outreach 
in Sacramento as well as two years in Toledo, Spain. Philip is remembered by 
many as the big man with the quiet voice. He is survived by his mother, Armida; 
his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Salvador) Hernandez, Anita Rivera, Alice 
(Frank) Moscato, Veronica Macias, Sylvia (Allen) Spain, Armida Norma (Alex) 
Carranza, all of Stockton and Susana (Dante) Ponce of Arequipa, Peru. He was 
the beloved tio of Michael, Rebecca, Philip, Ann Marie, Richard, Irene, 
Dominique, Jonathan, Melissa, Dante, Christopher, Susana, Izchel, Armando, 
Armida and three great-nephews. Philip is also survived by his aunts, Irene and 
Maria Elena; his uncle, Armando, all of Mexico and many, many, cousins and 
friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 
at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N.
