Mr. Roy, who had lived in San Jose 44 years, was a successful owner of R&R Fabrications of San Jose. Friends and family attribute his success to his strong work ethic. He was a dedicated and loving family man. His nieces and nephews will miss Uncle Dicky’s fun-loving nature, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He had looked forward to the birth of his first grandchild in the spring. Mr. Roy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laurie Roy, of San Jose; children, Jayme and Jennifer, and her husband, Jerry, all of San Jose; brothers, Darryl and Jim; sisters, Denise, Marcia, Bonnie, Margie, Barbara and Darleen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Hattie Roy; and a brother, Tommy Lee Roy. Memorial contributions in Mr. Roy’s name may be sent to the American Heart Association, 816 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles 90017, or www.americanheart.org. Darling-Fischer Mortuaries, 231 E. Campbell Ave., in Campbell, handled arrangements.
