Lucy ‘Tencha’ G. Ruiz

July 27, 1926 — Dec. 10, 2005

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday for San Jose resident 
Lucy “Tencha” G. Ruiz, 79, who died Saturday at Regional Medical Center in San 
Jose. 

Born in Heber, Ruiz lived in Tracy and worked for the H.J. Heinz Co. in her 
early years.

Mrs. Ruiz was a homemaker who loved to cook and sing old songs with her family 
and friends. Her favorite holidays were Mother’s Day, Fourth of July and 
Christmas.

Mrs. Ruiz is survived by her children, Steven L. Ruiz of Sacramento, Olga Ruiz 
of San Jose, Mary Garcia of San Jose; siblings, Raymond Gonzalez of Tracy, 
Rudy Gonzalez of Tracy, Eufemia Renteira of San Jose; 10 grandchildren; and 14 
great-grandchildren.

Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 
W. Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fry 
Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., immediately followed by the recital of a 
rosary. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery.
