She was born on February 6, 1924 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dorothy was a former Eastern Star Member. She loved traveling with her husband in and outside of the U.S. She was an avid reader and loved baking for the holidays. She enjoyed playing bridge, scrap booking and journaling. She maintained all correspondence with her family and friends by writing letters often and as much as possible. Dorothy was a very good listener; she never spoke a negative word and had a contagious smile. She enthusiastically supported her grandchildren in every way possible. She will be remembered as a beautiful woman inside and out and was a doting grandmother and great- grandmother who loved her family very much. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dayton Raney; her children, Diana Curson of OK, Dave Raney of Manteca and Brad Raney of Santa Rose; grandchildren, Karen Nolen of OK, Paul Curson of Long Beach, CA, Kathryn Curson of OK, Lara Lopez of Lodi, Mark LaGrone of Lodi, Phillip LaGrone of Modesto, Raymond Strelow of Stockton, Charles Strelow of Stockton,Walter Strelow of Stockton and Brian Strelow of Stockton; great-grandchildren, Ashley Dansby of Modesto, Olympia Lopez of Lodi, Anthony Lopez II of OK; and sister, June Burkhart of MO. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah LaGrone in 1989. Visitation will by held Tuesday, June 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at PlL. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, CA. Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
