Edna Rau 
Edna Frieda Rau, 88, of Lodi, died July 18 in Lodi. She was born Edna Frieda 
Rutschke on Oct. 31, 1916, in Zeeland, N.D.

Mrs. Rau married Ruben Rau in 1942 in Zeeland. She and her husband farmed in 
Artas, S.D. until they relocated to Lodi in 1956. 

She was a homemaker and worked in local canneries for many years. She was a 
member of the Herreid Baptist Church in Herreid, S.D. and the First Baptist 
Church of Lodi since 1956.





Edna Rau
She is survived by her husband, Ruben Rau, of Lodi; sisters, Elsie Weisenberger 
and Idella Weisenberger, both of Eureka, S.D., and Christine Stroh, of Sioux 
Falls, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Stroh and Gertha Munsch; and 
brothers, Johnny and Edwin Rutschke.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont 
Ave. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 
from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
