Olga Reed 
Olga Locke Reed, 98, of Santa Ynez and formerly of Lockeford, died April 15 at 
a Santa Ynez convalescent hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1907, in Lockeford, 
which was founded by her grandfather.

Mrs. Reed graduated from Lockeford Elementary School, Lodi High School and 
Fresno State University. She lived in Buellton for over 50 years. She was a 
teacher supervisor in Santa Barbara County Schools, and was the principal for 
many years of the Elementary School in Los Alamos, now known as the Olga L. 
Reed School. 

She is survived by her friend, Irene Donovan, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Georgiana Turner.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Locke Family 
Cemetery in Lockeford. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at 
Santa Ynez Valley Recovery Residence in Solvang.

Loper Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
