Virginia (Jean) Cardwell Roberts 
November 5, 1916 - March 16, 2005



Virginia (Jean) Cardwell Roberts, age 88, died in Stockton, CA on Wednesday, 
March 16, 2005. she was born November 5, 1916 in Springdale, Arkansas to Mabel 
Bookout and Clyde Cardell. She moved to California in 1936 and Modesto in 1942. 
Virginia was a clerk at Kiernan & Gerow Shop in Modesto for many years before 
moving to San Jose. She moved to Stockton in 1977 with her now deceased 
husband, Joe Roberts.
Virginia leaves behind her daughter, Melinda and son-in-law, Charles Lambaren 
of Stockton; two grandchildren, Todd Lambaren (Robyn) of Brookdale, CA and Lisa 
Lambaren Perez (Joe) of Stockton; three great-grandchildren, Scott and Kurt 
Lambaren and Amanda Perez. She also leaves her sisters, Helen Bender of 
Needles, CA and Barbara Oliver of Anaheim, CA.
Private Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Modesto CA. Chapel of the Palms 
Funeral Home, 303 S. California St., Stockton in care of arrangements.
