Born in Vanesville, Ohio, Mr. Smith was an elevator mechanic in Reno, and then lived in Tracy six months. He enjoyed NASCAR and rodeo, and will be remembered for his strong love of family and friends. Everyone looked forward to seeing him at gatherings. He always had a smile on his face and a big heart for everyone around him. Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Brian Smith and his wife, Misty, of Tracy; brother, Roger Smith; and grandchildren, Lane and Falyn Smith, both of Tracy. Saturday’s memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at the Vernalis Event Center, 2505 E. Highway 132, in Vernalis, behind Orchard Restaurant. Published on Friday, December 16, 2005, in the Tracy Press.
