Julian George Somera

Nov. 30, 1942 — Nov. 14, 2005

Services will be Friday for former Tracy resident Julian George Somera, 62, 
who died Monday (*14 November 2005) in Stockton.

Born in Pheonix, Mr. Somera lived in Tracy 30 years before spending another 30 
years in Manteca.

The owner of Eagle Construction, Somera and Sons Construction, and Somera 
Backhoe Service, he enjoyed working and being outdoors. He was a gentle man 
and — with many words of wisdom — was a role model for his siblings. He will 
be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and lifelong 
friend.

Mr. Somera is survived by his wife of 17 years, Ruth; lifelong friend, Mildred 
Somera of Lathrop; children, Felicia Cherry and George Somera, both of 
Lathrop, Barbara Somera of Stockton, Paul Somera and Michael Somera, both of 
Manteca; grandchildren, George Somera Jr. of French Camp, Timmy Lopez and 
Cindy Lopez, both of Lathrop, Kimberly Somera, Janessa Somera, Alessandra 
Somera and Julian Paul Somera Jr., all of Manteca; great-grandchildren Anissa 
Somera and Justin Somera, both of French Camp; and siblings Gordon Somera, 
Virginia Eggink and Veronica Souza, all of Manteca, Gilbert Somera, Dolores 
Romero, Edward Somera and Richard Somera, all of Stockton, Robert Somera of 
Seattle, and Diane Ahrens of Ahawanee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Primitivo Joe and Julia Somera.

Friday’s memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 
550 S. Central Ave., 836-1970. Visitation will be observed from 11 a.m. to 1 
p.m. at the chapel. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery.
