William Starkey
William "Bill" Starkey, 91, of Galt, died Oct. 20 in a Sacramento hospital from 
natural causes. He was born Oct. 1, 1914, in Duncan, Okla.

Mr. Starkey lived in the area for 55 years. He was a truck driver and enjoyed 
folk-art musical instruments and gardening. 

He is survived by his son, Don Starkey, of West Sacramento; daughters, Naomi 
Frechette, of Rocklin, Stella Cordes, of Alameda, and Mary McMillen, of Wilton; 
seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Starkey, and second wife, 
Kathlene Starkey.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Glenview Cemetery in 
Clements. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ben Salas Funeral Home 
in Galt.
