Grace Suess
  Grace Edna Suess, 74, of Lodi died May 29 following a lengthy illness.  She 
was born Grace Edna Gallagher Sept 20, 1922 in Lodi.
  She attended Harmony Grove School and graduated from Lodi High School in 
1940.  She attended Glad Tidings Bible School in San Francisco for a year.  
She married in November of 1941 in Lodi.
  Mrs. Suess was employed as a chef at Lawrence School for 13 years, retiring 
in 1986.  She was a member of Westside Assembly in Lodi.
  She enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family.  She was known 
as “Grandma Grace” to the children of Lawrence School.  She was deeply 
religious.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Daetweiler, and three brothers, 
Johnny, Jummy and Robert Gallagher.
  Mrs. Suess is survived by her husband, Forrest E. Suess of Lodi; two sons, 
the Rev. Ronald E. Suess of Santa Rosa and Douglas W. Suess of Modesto; a 
daughter, Bonnie Teixeira of Stockton; five sisters, Juanita Wood, Margaret 
Andrews and Hazel Weir all of Lodi, Marie Farnesi of Nevada, and Nora Flamm of 
Oakland; a brother Patrick Gallagher of Lodi and six grandchildren.  
  Chapel services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home with the Rev. 
Ronald Suess officiating.  Committal is at Cherokee Memorial Park.  Visitation 
is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and 8 a.m. to service time 
Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 
1212 W. Robinhood Dr., suite 6-D, Stockton, 95207.
