Born in Brighton, Colo., she moved to Southern California in 1960. From there, she moved to South Lake Tahoe, San Jose, Fremont and Livermore as the construction company she founded with her husband followed the housing boom. In 1995, she retired and moved to Gardnerville, Nev., where she and her husband raised and trained cutting horses. Mrs. Sanders was an avid reader who loved spoiling her grandkids and shopping for shoes. She enjoyed watching her children and grandkids participate in sports. Her true passion was watching her husband and friends ride cutting horses. Throughout her life, her pets held a special place in her heart. Mrs. Sanders was a good friend to many and will be remembered for her patriotism and generosity. Mrs. Sanders is survived by her husband of 37 years, Coy Sanders of Gardnerville; son, Curtis Yanagihara, and his wife, Barbara, of Tracy; daughters, Terri Ratfield, and her husband, Cris, of Tracy, Debra Yanagihara of Reno, Terry Sanders and Tammy Pauley, and her husband, Don, all of Escondido; and grandchildren, Coy Sanders, Kelly Ratfield, Aaron Sanders, Branden Benetti and Katie Ratfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Margaret Swinford. Saturday’s services will begin at noon at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave., in Reno. Services will be performed by family friend, Pastor David Perata of Cornerstone Church in Livermore. Published on Wednesday, November 09, 2005, in the Tracy Press.
