He was born in Warren, PA and then moved to Akron, OH where he grew up. Leonard worked as a pharmacist and then worked for a firm that did window displays. Around 1955 he moved with his wife to Stockton and started his own business "Liberty Fixtures". Leonard was an avid boater and belonged to the Stockton Yacht Club and Cruiser Haven Yacht Club. In 1982 he served as the commodore of the Stockton Yacht club and that same year he was made the first fleet Admiral of the Stockton Navy. He also loved baseball and enjoyed watching the Oakland A's. He was proceeded in death by his wives, Mary Jeanne of 35 years, Marylin of 14 years and his sons, Theodore and Gary Semler. Leonard is survived by 3 sons, Gordon Semler of Reno, Nevada, John Semler of Stockton and Steven Semler of Stockton. He is the grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of 20 and great-great- grandfather of 2. A Memorial Service will be held March 29, 2005, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1616 Pyrenees Ave., Stockton, CA. 95210.
