He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Queen Creek, Ariz. Mr. Simpson was a resident of Lodi for 20 years and then Manteca for 20 years. He worked in the automotive industry as an automotive painter. He was a member of Vinewood Community Church in Lodi. He was an avid model collector and enjoyed building models of planes, trucks, and space carriers. He also enjoyed building race cars and displaying them. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Carolyn Simpson, of Manteca; son, Ronald Len Simpson, of Galt; daughter, Lynette Kay Ragsdale, of North Carolina; step-sons, David Allen Eckert, of Chester, and Daniel Ray Eckert, of New York, N.Y.; brothers, Johnnie Simpson, of Citrus Heights, Joe Simpson, of Riverdale, Bill Simpson, of Madera and George Simpson, of Fresno; sisters, Loula Smith, of Chowchilla, and Ruby Beasley, of Alaska; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam Simpson, James Simpson and Kenneth Simpson; and sister, Almeda Ren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 29 N. Union Road, Manteca. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 1212 W. Robinhood Dr., Stockton, CA 95207. P.L.
