Alpha May Smith 
May 12, 1904 - March 23, 2005



Alpha May Smith, age 100, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005. She was born 
May 12, 1904 in Oklahoma. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She 
enjoyed quilting, crocheting and had a green thumb, previously operated an 
antique store in Oklahoma. She was a fabulous cook. She was preceded by her 
husband, Eber Smith in 1985 and daughter, Molly Johnston in 1981.
Surviving children, Zara Vosburg of Stockton; step-children, Edgar Rose of 
Oakdale, Gladys Ruckman of Stockton, Elsie Fritts of Stockton, Delsie Lee of 
Oklahoma and Shelby Rose of Stockton; 7 grandchildren; 16 (2 deceased) great-
grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, March 28, 2005 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Deegan Funeral 
Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St. in Escalon. Service is at 11:00 a.m. also at the 
chapel. Inerment: Burwood Cemetery.
