He was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Germany. He lived in Galt for 20 years. He had a house boat on Lost Slough for 12 years in "the meadows." Mr. Stephan was a butcher for cruise ships. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Walnut Grove. He enjoyed seeing the world by ship and watching the birds and wildlife where he lived. He is survived by two sisters in Germany and his best friend Jack Mello, of Walnut Grove. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Stephan in 1990. A memorial service will be scheduled.
