Twylah Stout 
Twylah-Belle Stout, 90, of Taft and formerly of Lodi, died March 29 in her 
home. She was born May 20, 1914, in Claud, N.M.

Mrs. Stout graduated from high school in Clovis, N.M., and attended college in 
Canyon, Texas, New Mexico, Las Vegas and at Abilene Christian College. She and 
her family lived in Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Arizona and California. She 
taught school in Holleen, Texas for one year and then married Dudley Stout in 
1937. Following World War II, she helped her husband get through college and 
helped him to become an evangelist of the gospel. 

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dudley Stout; daughter, Martoria 
Sherman; son, George Royal Stout Sr.; five grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Julius, Marshall and Ralph; 
and sisters, Helen, Edna and Elsie.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home 
with Mr. Darrell Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the West Side 
District Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the 
funeral home.

Erickson & Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
