Denzil "Denny" Sweat

   Mr. Denzil "Denny" Sweat of Lodi passed away Monday May 23, 2005 in a Lodi 
hospital at the age of 75. He was born February 20, 1930 in Gilbert, Arizona to 
Luin and Laura Sweat. He worked as a concrete finisher for many years before 
retiring in 1988. He also worked for Lidi Supermold as well as for Cherokee 
Memorial Park Cemetery. He was a member of the Galt Seventh-day Adventist 
Church, and enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and most of all, his grandchildren. 
He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will 
be greatly missed.
   He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Maureen Sweat of Lidi; 
one son Eric Sweat of Lodi; one daughter, Valerie Stump and husband Bob of 
Stockton; one brother George Sweat of Lodi; one sister, Frances McCaniel of 
Vallejo; 4 grandchildren, Jason and Jeffery Kort of Lodi; Sara and Guy Stump of 
Stockton; 2 great grandchildren, Clayton Kort of Utah, Hannah Kort of Lodi. He 
was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Cheryl Kort in 1993, 1 brother Buck Sweat 
and 1 sister, Maggie Bianco.
  A chapel service will be held Friday, may 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lodi 
Funeral Home, followed by interment at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held thursday 12:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home.
   Remembrances can be sent to the charity of choice.
