Maria Torres 
Maria Guadalupe Torres, 67, of Thornton, died April 13 at a convalescent 
hospital. She was born Dec. 29 1937 in Durango, Mexico.

Mrs. Torres worked as a laborer for 36 years, and was employed by Tri-Valley 
Growers. 

She is survived by her sons, Sergio H. Torres and Jose L. Torres, both of 
Thornton; daughter, Adria Avila, of Lincoln; sisters, Hermina Barraza and Belen 
Campos, both of Thornton; brothers, Carlos Barraza, of Isleton, and Jose Luis 
Valenzuela, of Durango, Mexico; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by her husband of 28 years, Luis T. Torres.

A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Mater Ecclesiae Church, 
26500 Sacramento Blvd., Thornton, with Father Jairo Ramirez officiating. 
Committal will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S. School St., Lodi. A vigil 
will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Rocha's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
