Gerald L. Walker, DVM 
July 28, 1941 - April 3, 2005



Gerald L. Walker, 63, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at home surrounded by 
his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1941 in Warren County, Iowa, to Paul 
and Dorothy Walker. Upon receiving his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from 
Iowa State University, he settled in Stockton in 1966, building and maintaining 
a successful practice at Village Veterinary Hospital. He married Myrna Owens in 
1962, celebrating 42 years of wonderful marriage last June. Together they were 
committed, longtime members of Quail Lakes Baptist Church, where Jerry served 
as a member of the elder board for many years. Jerry was also a board member of 
Christian Veterinary Missions and together with his wife and groups of 
veterinary students, he made numerous international mission trips to provide 
veterinary expertise and help to Third World communities that would otherwise 
have no access to such assistance.
Jerry was a loving father to Clint and Pam Walker of Riverbank and Pat and 
Jenny Walker of Lodi, as well as a proud grandfather to six wonderful grand 
kids. He is also survived by a brother, Gary and Sandy Walker of Las Vegas and 
brother-in-law, Lynn and Linda Owens of Livermore. He was predeceased by both 
parents, as well as a younger brother, Donald Walker. Jerry took great joy in 
fly fishing, duck hunting, as well as gardening and delighted in hosting 
friends for backyard barbecues. A quiet and steady leader of his family, he 
will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, April 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Quail 
Lakes Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Dr. Jerry Walker 
International Missions Fund, c/o Quail Lakes Baptist Church, 1904 Quail Lakes 
Dr., Stockton, CA 95207 or to Christian Veterinary Missions, 19303 Fremont 
Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98133.
