Mr. Winchester worked as a painter for J.L. Winchester & Sons Painting and Papering Service for 40 years before retiring in 1988. Mr. Winchester was a United States Navy and Korean Veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and attending family functions. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lela Winchester of Manteca; 5 sons, Larry Winchester of Lodi, Jay Winchester of Lockeford, Don Dupree of Manteca, Roy Dupree and Bob Dupree of Letha, Idaho; 2 daughters, Patty Winchester and Jackie Winchester, both of Lodi; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jeff, Bill, Fred and James Winchester; 1 sister, Mildred Head. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home.
