Mrs. Morelos was born and raised in Tracy, where she worked in the tomato- packing sheds during the summer. She moved to Sacramento in 1960 with her husband and children because of the closure of the Southern Pacific Railroad yards, where her husband had worked as a pipe fitter. She retired after 10 years as a cafeteria worker for the Sacramento School District, where she enjoyed being around the children. Mrs. Morelos enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family, friends and special friend and neighbor, Josephine Pinto of Sacramento. Mrs. Morelos is survived by her children, Tony Morelos, and his wife, Carmen, of Fresno, Teresa Herrera, and her husband, Frank, of Newcastle, Joe Morelos, and his wife, Rosa, of Sacramento, Virginia Bain, and her husband, Chuck, of Bangor, and Raymond Morelos Jr., and his wife, Josephine, of Tracy; brothers Raymond and Eddie Zaragoza, both of Tracy, and William Zaragoza of Manteca; sisters, Sharon Saenz of Manteca and Geraldine Munoz of Tracy; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Raymond Morelos Sr., in 1979; parents, Blas and Rose Cardiel Zaragoza; brothers, Frank and Carlos Zaragoza; and sisters, Nellie Marquez and Betty Ceniceros. Wednesday’s services will begin at 9 a.m. at Andrews and Greilich Chapel, 3939 Fruitridge Road, in Sacramento, with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be observed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, followed by a rosary at 6 p.m., all at the chapel. Published on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, in the Tracy Press.
