Grant an old pioneer of this section passed to the great beyond after a lingering illness. The deceased had been slowly sinking for some time when he was brought to this city where everything was done that mortal hands could do until the end Sunday. Mr. Grant was a native of Scotland, born in 1838. Arriving in this country he drifted to San Bernardino where he was married to Margaret Neish in 1868. In 1882 he settled in this section where he took up land in the eastern section of the county near Grants Lake and which he successfully farmed until stricken with illness that caused his death. He is survived by a loving wife and the following children who mourn his demise, Robert B., John M., Richard, Adam L., Fred W. and Archie Grant, Mrs. Isabel Holcomb, Viva A. Anderson and Jesse Grant, all of who have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services were held under the auspices of the local lodge of Masons, Monday afternoon and interment was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Additional Comments: 1.
