San Luis Obispo Telegram-Tribune, August 1, 1939
"RITES HELD FOR CAMBRIA PIONEER.  Last rites for Vine Van Gorden, Cambria
native-son, were held at the C.W. Palmer Mortuary Monday [July 31] at 2 p.m.
under auspices of San Luis Obispo Lodge No. 322 B.P.O.Elks.

Austin Waltz sang "Under His Wing" and "Constantly Abiding," accompanied by
Clara Higdon on the organ.  Entombment was in the Lawn Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Herman Pfleghaar, Ivan Stock, Alfred Ricioli, Merle Evans,
Howard Evans, Donald Evans.  A large numer of friends from the up-coast section
attended the services." END
