C. Waterbury. The history of the building dates back to 1904, when it was owned by Mrs. J. D. Reidy. It was used until about 1912 as a sanitarium. In 1912, a Mrs. Kenyon was the owner of the house, at which time it was turned into a boarding house because of World War I. It continued as a boarding house and when World War II was declared it housed young women. Because of the demand for housing, the second story veranda was boarded up about 1940 and turned into a closet for the two front rooms upstairs. Another addition to the house came in about 1930. A kitchen was added to the back of the house and to this day stands on the original foundation, redwood blocks. The house is of Yankee influence in that it has scalloped shingles as well as regular shingles on the facade. There are 13 rooms with wood handwork throughout the house. The distinguishing features are the two circular arches over the entry and veranda. The one over the veranda that was enclosed for closet space has been reopened and returned to its original state. The house is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Lynn, who are happily restoring it. They have recently repainted the house white.
