The structure is on lots 1, 2, and 3 in block #93 of the Murray and Church addition of San Luis Obispo. The Victorian style house was built by Charles Erickson some time between 1888 and 1897. It was pictured in the San Luis Obispo Fire Department record book in June, 1904, still owned by Erickson. The home is also spoken of as the Carmi Reynolds home. There were about seven or eight different owners between 1900 and 1940, but most of the history is unknown. In about 1940, the house was turned into apartments and has remained that way since. The exact layout of the original floor plan is unknown. The most striking feature of the house is the round tower at the front with its bell-shaped roof.
