Friends are invited to the service at St. Matthew's Catholic church where Rev. Father H. J. Lyne will read the rites. Later there will be a reception at the home of Mrs. E. Dittnock of 354 North Delaware street, San Mateo. For a number of years the bride-elect has lived in this community where she was graduated from the San Mateo High School. She and her sister, miss Lorraine Smith, who will be the bridesmaid at the service, make their home with an aunt, Mrs. G. Dittnock of 335 N. Delaware street. Schepis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schepis of San Francisco, makes his home with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gargiulo (nee Mary Margaret Schepis) of San Mateo. He is connected with a Burlingame firm and the couple will live there following a week's tour. James Schepis, brother of the bridegroom-to-be, will be the best man at the service. - - - Monday, November 2, 1936 pg. 5 Reception Follows Wedding at St. Matthews The Smith-Schepis families were united yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock in St. Matthew's Catholic church when Rev. Father H. J. Lyne read the service before a large gathering. Later 75 guests gathered at the home of Mrs. E. Dittnock, 34 (sic - s/b 354) North Delaware street for a reception. The home was attractively decorated with chrysanthemums for the party. Sister is Bridesmaid Miss Margaret Smith of San Mateo, the bride, wore a white crepe gown, made with long sleeves and a high neck. Her veil was long and the bridal bouquet was of gardenias and white sweet peas. For a number of years, the bride has lived in San Mateo where she was graduated from the San Mateo High School. She and her sister, Lorraine Smith, made their home with an aunt, Mrs. G. Dittnock of North Delaware street. The sister, bridesmaid at yesterday's wedding, wore a pale green with a white hat and her flowers were pom-pom dahlias and white snapdragons in an old-fashioned bouquet. To Live in Burlingame Upon their return from a week's wedding tour south this couple will live at 14 Highland avenue, Burlingame. The bridegroom, Joe Schepis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schepis of San Francisco, made his home with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gargiulo of San Mateo. He is connected with a Burlingame firm. James Schepis, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. - - - Friday, November 13, 1936 pg. 11 Newlyweds Now In Burlingame Now located at 14 Highland avenue, Burlingame, are the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schepis, who have returned from a week's wedding tour to Santa Barbara. The marriage of Miss Margaret Smith of San Mateo to Schepis was solemnized the first part of the month in St. Matthew's Catholic church, with Rev. Father H. J. Lyne, reading the service. Additional Comments: Joseph was born June 3, 1913 in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California & died March 30, 1999 in San Mateo Co., California. He was the son of Francesco "Frank" Schepis and Teresa (Gattaino) Schepis. Margaret was born August 26, 1916 and died March 30, 1991 both events occurring in San Mateo Co., California. Her mother's maiden name was Denahy.
