Many matters of interest were up for discussion and considerable business was transacted. In some way the idea has gone out that the object of the organization is only to boon and advertize this portion of the Santa Clara Valley. In a sense this the truth, but it is a very small part of the truth. The very best way to boom this region is to have such ranches and orchards as E. W. Herrold’s, F. G. Deane’s, G. Ragios’ and many other fine ones that could be named or young vineyard’s such as C. E. Meginness; or such flocks of goats as J. Castilou’s. The chief work of the organization out to be to become acquainted with the making of such things – everything we can on these matters and then by putting them in practice year by year we will make this whole region a beauty spot to live in and make much more than a comfortable living by our labor. When we have accomplished this we will have done the very best we can to advertise our locality.
