It was not known that she was severely ill, but the unwelcome messenger came suddenly and unexpectedly. She retired Thursday evening feeling very weak and weary and quietly passed from sleep to death. The autopsy revealed the cause of death to heart failure. Margaret Mary O’Neil was born in New York, July 14, 1847. She was married to Geo. L. Brown in San Antonio, Texas, September 22, 1878, who survives her. She had taken a partial course in a medical college, and then spent a number of years as a reporter on the St. Louis Republican. They had made their home in this vicinity for a number of years and had gathered many warm friends who sorrow with the bereaved husband over the loss of the departed. The funeral was held in the U. P. church on Sabbath afternoon, Rev. M. M. Gilchrist officiating, and the remains were followed to their resting place by a large concourse of people. Card of Thanks To my neighbors and friends I tender very grateful and heartfelt thanks for their kindly help and sympathy in my recent time of need. Gratefully, Geo. L.
