Carson, for many years one of the proprietors of the Carson & Riley Drug Store at Second and Santa Clara Streets, and earlier part owner of a drug store at First and San Fernando Streets, died at home in the Willows yesterday afternoon after an extended illness due mainly to his advanced years. Decedent was 76 years of age, and for the past three years had charge of the Hester Drug Store. It was at the Hester establishment that he fell from a chair while lighting the gas three years ago. In his fall he sustained injuries from which he never fully recovered and which were in part responsible for his demise. Shortly after his arrival he started in the drug business and for 20 years was established at the locations given. He leaves a host of business and close personal friends to mourn his loss.
