He had been in failing health for some time, but was present at a family gathering at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. N. Raney, last Christmas. This was the last time he was able to leave the house. Notwithstanding the condition of his physical health, Mr. Craig had a clear mind and retentive memory almost to the end, and was possessed of splendid judgment. He was born in Canada and came to California six years ago from Drayton, North Dakota. He bought a home in San Jose and the orchard place near Edenvale, living at the former place two years; then moving to the ranch, where he had lived ever since. He loved this section of the county, and at his own request his mortal remains were laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years. Besides his widow, Mrs. Angelina Craig, he leaves two sons, Rev. J. C. Craig of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Albert Craig of Morgan Hill, and five daughters, Mrs. A. N. Raney of Morgan Hill, Mrs. G. A. Warmer of Bakersfield, Mrs. G. A. Elliott of Drayton, North Dakota, and Misses Clara and Angelina Craig of Edenvale. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the San Jose undertaking parlors, Rev. G. A. Warmer, Mr. Craig’s son-in-law, officiating. Rev. L. P. Walker assisted Mr. Warmer at the service at the cemetery. Additional Comments: James Craig and Angeline Elizabeth Perrin Craig were both born in Canada.
